The pass mark and content are exactly the same as the regular theory exam — only the format changes.
This exam is available for all driving licence categories in the Netherlands: car (rijbewijs B), motorcycle (A1/A2/A), and moped/scooter (AM).

The oral theory exam (in Dutch: mondeling theorie examen) is a legal, official CBR examination. It is not a simplified version of the theory exam — the content, difficulty level, and pass requirements are identical. The only difference is the delivery: questions are spoken, not written. This makes it a more accessible format for candidates who struggle with reading, digital environments, or test anxiety.
The exam is conducted entirely in Dutch by a CBR staff member. If you are an international candidate, you will need a sufficient understanding of spoken Dutch to follow the questions. At 1op1cursus.nl, we prepare you for both the content and the language used in the exam.

You do not always need an official diagnosis, but the CBR does require a valid application. We help you submit this application correctly.
To take the oral theory exam, you must submit a special application to the CBR through MijnCBR. In some cases, you will also need to include supporting documentation — such as a statement from a doctor, speech therapist, or school. The CBR then assesses your application and confirms whether you qualify.
